For most of your effects and editing (that aren't 'real-time'), you'll want to be in the edit window- click on the little wav file icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to get between edit view and multitrack view. Then go to 'effects', and start clicking! And don't forget to save your work- there are several ways to do this...

There are lots of tricks, short-cuts, and cool ways to get around and get things done, and a million things you can get done! But the only way to really learn this stuff is to get in there and start bumping you head against it!

 The 'Help' menu is very comprehensive. And before you spend $ on a published work on Cool Edit Pro (like I did- though I do find it useful), get into the Help menu. There's also a .pdf you can print in the Syntrillium heading here, I think lpdeluxe has the link- look around for it. But, heh- it's 380 pages...:D

Go to, now, and bump thine head.

Rog.

Good morning, Stewbone! Here's the link: http://www.alfors.com/Ruzne/cep2man.pdf
Stewbone's advice is right on target. The only way to learn is to do it and misdo it and redo it. And then do it!
