Hey!

I'm looking at buying a decent multi channel recorder in the next month. I will be recording drums, so i need at least 8 ins.

The current battle is Terratec Phase 88 v M-Audio Delta 1010LT!

Both these cards are available for £225 in the UK, so i was wondering if anyone has any knowlege, experience, advice or anything about which card is the better.

I have afew weak areas of knowlege about them...

for recording drums i'm going to be going out of a mixer into the normal inputs, but for all other overdubs i'll go into the SPDIF in, from the SPDIF out on my M-Audio Tampa pre amp.

I don't know which card has the better converters, or which will generaly record the best sound, so if anyone can help me out it'd b much apreaciated :) thanx alot!

I can imagine Terratec using the latest an best converters but as the card is very new I havn't seen a reprot on it in a forum yet.
In my experience Terratec makes rock solid drivers and thats an important factor.

cheers

I personally have none too good experiences with terratec, but that was almost 10 years ago when they still made little more than upgraded soundblasters. I hear they've improved a lot over the years. And I simply loved my Delta cards. I'd go for M-audio.

But read the specs... noise levels and such. You should be able to discern between the cards that way.
