no midi in in logic 5.3

I have logic 5.3 windows version and have a new computer-p4 3ghz gig/ram asus p4c800-e m/b and am running the system with a yamaha 01x and an evolution mk449 midi-key. now everything is going along fine n then logic does not "see" my midi -keyboard. i try it in other programs like abelton live and all is ok but after that evrytime i boot up logic doesnt recognize the keyboard.on the transport it just says no in no out. the only way i got the system workin agin was to wipe the h/drive and reload evryting. however this only lasted for 2 days and then i was happily playing away and again the keyboard stopped going "thru" logic and now im stuffed again.please does anyone know whats happeneing to me?

you need to save a new file template,also do you have the sample songs that logic came with on your hard drive,if turn off read only box.

hey zenith, what version of logic are you running,& what motherboard is being good to you.

I have just recently been using logic 6 on a mac http://www.audioforums.com/forums/frown.gif sorry. I dont even know if 5.3 has the enviroment.
