Hi, sold me granny and bought a Tascam FW-1884
I'm tring to the software, i'm running win xp pro, service pack 1

when i get to "INSTALL HOTFIX" i get an error message about language not found!

from PDF on install CD: o Note: Due to the required installation of a Microsoft Hotfix (also called a
QFE ), drivers must be installed using the provided installer. Separate
Windows driver files are not provided on the CD.

So with out the "hotfix" i cant install the FW-1884

My IEEE 1394 interface is OHCI compliant.

Any ideas?

Wow thats a new one..

I have the FW-1884 and I never had anything close to the system wanting a HotFix.

Dissable all usb, onboard sound and networking on that board as well as any other programs that could cause a f-up..

If you can do a complete fresh install of XP.

My guess is the Motherboard but do not quote me on this.

Good Luck!

Before I installed my 1884 I went to MS and downloaded and installed all obvious updates. The 1884 works like a charm!
