Has anyone ever used the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card for recording guitar, bass, keyboards, etc... onto your computer?
Thanks.

Although it is a decent card for overall computer use I would stay away from most consumer level cards if you plan on taking your recording seriously.
Do a search here at the forum for "Sound Card" and you'll find plenty of great information.

Save your money and buy a card specifically designed for recording.
The M-Audio Audiophile 2496 costs $150.

It's only an 18-bit card. Not bad as a gamer card (put one in my son's PC and it works great for gaming).
But get a real 24-bit card for recording.

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad I didn't go ahead and buy the Turtle Beach sound card. There seems to be a lot of references to the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card throughout this newsgroup, so maybe that's what I should save up for.
Thanks again.

I have the Santa Cruz, extremly great for gamming, personal use, even for home theatre or something, but it's mostly good for output. I agree with the above posts..
