I want to record my bass, guitar, and guitar synth onto my computer. I will do these one at a time, but want to be able to listen to the previous track while I record the next track. I am not a professional, but would like a nice clean sound that I can burn to a cd and let people listen to. Does anyone know if the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card ($60) would work for me? I didn't want to spend in the hundreds, but does anyone recommend the new Terratec Phase 22 sound card ($120)? Any info on what to be avoided would be appreciated. I don't want to throw away my money and have no idea if the above products would even work. Do I need to worry about latency when recording and playing back at the same time?

Thanks for your help.

I havn't tried the Phase 22 but starting with the DMX6fire (which I have) Terratec products got really good with solid drivers too.

cheers
